Body acoustics

Body acoustics involve both oscillations/structural vibrations (body parts, windows, etc.), as well as the sound radiating from these. Depending on the source, engine, rolling, wind or interfering noise is transferred and radiated in this way.

Depending on the requirements of the project at hand conventional accelerometers or state-of-the-art optical methods  (e.g. laser-scanning vibrometers) are used to analyze body vibrations at FKFS.  Both modal analysis to determine the basic vibrational modes as well as operational modal analysis (OMA) and transfer path analysis to investigate the respective conditions during operation can be carried out.
