The E/E architecture of a vehicle directly affects the complexity and therefore the cost of vehicle electronics. The vehicle manufacturer is responsible for the integration of different components and functions from all the participating suppliers. Simple, controllable architectures based on standards are basic requirements for the implementation of this task.

 

Tasks such as reducing the number of control devices, the associated weight and cost reduction, minimizing the power consumption of all components and the optimization of communications must be solved if a vehicle is to be a success.

 

The FKFS supports vehicle manufacturers and suppliers in addressing these challenges with its available expertise in the following types of networks, from the physical layer up to applications across control devices, as well as in the most widely varying target platforms. We control the entire development process, from the embedded controller, the Windows-based systems through the HiL and up to the near-production prototypes.

 

In the area of new powertrain concepts, there is great potential for improvement, not least of all when considering the voltage levels and new high-voltage components in hybrid and electric powertrains.
