Vehicle acoustics are becoming more and more important for the development engineers at automobile companies and their suppliers. The present focus in this context is not only on quiet products, but also on creating an appropriate acoustic climate.
To achieve these goals, detailed tests are required, both of the noise generated by the engine, accessories and power train and of the tire/road noise and air flow noise. In addition to acoustic optimization, it is also extremely important to achieve maximum vibrational comfort.
FKFS therefore began to develop its own acoustics department at the beginning of the 1970s. Today, research and development projects relating to acoustics and vibrations in engines and vehicles are worked on in two closely related departments which are well equipped, both in terms of personnel and technology.
