On behalf of several OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturer), we are producing driving simulators for the investigation of steering systems. The core of these simulators is a highly dynamic drive, which was specially developed in-house, for simulating torque moments. Via direct drive, very low to extremely high steering moments in the frequency range from 0 to 200 Hz can be transmitted instantly, without play.
The application area is the subjective evaluation of innovative steering technologies, steering assist functions and steering tuning (‘steering feel’). The steering simulator can be coupled via Ethernet, CAN, or in an analog manner with any standard real-time simulation computer or rapid prototyping system on which the operator implements his steering functions.
Additional development simulators were supplied for the development of gear selection strategies, hybrid drive functions and other software functions.
If required, almost any electronic automotive system (such as driver assistance systems, instrument clusters, transmission controls, etc.) can be integrated into a driving simulator via an HiL process to bypass the costly process of changing the modeling.
Upon request, the FKFS will be happy to support customers in the selection or the in-house development of suitable real-time simulation models for steering, driving dynamics or the powertrain, in addition to customized or commercial products.
