The FKFS high-performance electric drivetrain test bench, HEP for short, has been in customer operation since 2020.
It enables the testing of complete drive trains or individual components (e.g. electric machine or gearboxes) from electric vehicles. The driving resistances are simulated by two highly dynamic wheel machines. The input is provided by either, the drive of the device under test (DUT) or the drive of the test bench, which is also a highly dynamic electric machine. A highly dynamic high-voltage battery simulator is used to supply the DUT with electrical energy.
But what's new? In cooperation with machine and converter manufacturers, we have now succeeded in increasing the maximum torque of the test bench's input drive from 900 to 1,000 Nm, so that even more powerful test specimens (e-machines, gearboxes or complete e-axles) can now be examined and tested.
What can we do for our customers with the help of the HEP?
- Initial commissioning and process initialization
- Efficiency measurements (mechanical and electrical)
- Hardware-in-the-loop tests
- Functional testing
- Application testing
- Durability testing
- Wide range of special tests
