On September 29, the employees and the Board of Management of FKFS and IFS bid farewell to Prof. Dr.-Ing. Hans-Christian Reuss on his last days before retirement.
In his speech, Prof. Dr.-Ing. Andreas Wagner praised Prof. Reuss' work at the Research Institute for Automotive Engineering and Powertrain Systems Stuttgart (FKFS) and at the Partner Institute for Automotive Engineering Stuttgart (IFS) at the University of Stuttgart looking back on the past 21 years. “I couldn't have imagined a more wonderful task and I am extremely grateful for this time!” said Prof. Reuss in his response.
By taking over the Chair of Automotive Mechatronics in 2004, Prof. Reuss ideally complemented the range of topics covered by IFS and the FKFS Executive Board. As a member of the FKFS Executive Board, he regularly assumed the chairmanship and, in this role, played a key role in shaping the strategic development of the institute. In addition, he initiated and managed the events AutoTest and Technology Leaders, which have served as important platforms for exchange between research and industry.
Under his leadership, the field of automotive mechatronics developed into a central area of research that gained enormous importance at a time of profound change in the automotive industry.
We would like to thank Prof. Reuss for his tireless commitment, his professional excellence, and his services to research and teaching in Stuttgart. We wish him all the best and much happiness in this new phase of his life.
Prof. Reuss' farewell lecture is yet to take place. The date will be announced as soon as it has been finalized.
