Girls' Day at FKFS and IFS

Last week, we had the pleasure of hosting Girls' Day - an initiative aimed at giving girls and young women an insight into careers where they are typically underrepresented. Organized by a dedicated team of our employees, the day offered a variety of hands-on activities where the young participants could explore technology in a fun and interactive way.

The girls had the opportunity to program Ozobots - small robots that they could control and assign tasks to. It was impressive to see their creativity unfold as they overcame various challenges during the workshop. This hands-on experience not only boosted their technical understanding, but also their problem-solving skills.

Our team also introduced the participants to the fascinating world of modern vehicles. They showed them various sensors and invited them to take a ride in our autonomous shuttle, which das been developed by our partner institute IFS as part of the Mobilab project. This experience allowed the girls to experience the interaction of the sensors and develop a better understanding of the technologies behind autonomous driving.

Another highlight of the day was the demonstration of our FKFS driving simulator where our colleagues currently test autonomous driving functions.

It was impressive to see how quickly the girls immersed themselves in the world of robotics and expanded their knowledge over the course of the day.

We are already looking forward to the next Girls' Day in 2026 and to getting even more young women interested in technical professions!
