On January 19, 2026, our colleague Dr.-Ing. Ulrike Weinrich participated in the international online event "Autonomous Driving: Bridging Science, Industry, and Collaboration between Kanagawa and Baden-Württemberg," organized by Baden-Württemberg International.
Japanese partners' contributions focused on safety verification, validation methods, and standardization. These contributions showed that Germany and Japan are pursuing similar approaches to safely introducing automated vehicle systems.
Together with the FZI Forschungszentrum Informatik, insights into the implementation of automated driving in Baden-Württemberg were provided. In addition to presenting the "Autonomous Driving Baden-Württemberg" (TAF-BW) test area, it was revealed that automated driving is already being tested and implemented in concrete projects such as RABus in the Länd.
