Mid-term event for the SALSA project

On February 12, the mid-term event for the SALSA project took place in Fellbach - a successful opportunity to take stock of progress and look ahead to the future.

The focus was on the project results to date and the next steps in terms of content. The interdisciplinary exchange between research, development, and application was particularly exciting - precisely where innovation in the field of automated mobility is taking place.

Our focus in the project is on user studies in the driving simulator. We are investigating how the driving behavior of assistance systems, automated and autonomous vehicles can be specifically designed to increase user acceptance. In doing so, we are not only looking at actual driving behavior (e.g., acceleration and braking patterns or cornering behavior), but also at the role of external communication – for example, how vehicles make their intentions visible to the outside world and thus create trust in the traffic environment.

The mid-term event was marked by many inspiring discussions, constructive feedback, and new ideas for the upcoming project phases. The open exchange once again demonstrated how important it is to combine technical innovation with human-centered research.

We are very much looking forward to the rest of the project - and to actively shaping the acceptance of automated mobility together.
