On July 18 and 19, the second course of the FKFS Academy on "Electrification of Mobility - Introduction to Electric Drive and Energy Storage System", which could be booked as a supplement to course 1 or as a stand-alone course, took place. Expert Prof. Giorgio Rizzoni from The Ohio State University gave the participating automotive/mechanical engineers and researchers a deep insight into the xEV technology and the challenges and opportunities associated with e-mobility. In addition to theory, a hands-on part gave participants the opportunity to explore the simulated performance of a battery electric vehicle using a simulator, including battery electrical and thermal management, power limits, SOC estimation, and other important functions.
Next week we will continue with course 3 on "Vehicle Aerodynamics and Aeroacoustics".
