Prof. Dr. Jochen Wiedemann honored in Shanghai Magnolia Silver Awards

Professor Dr. Jochen Wiedemann, Chairman of the Board of Management of the FKFS and Professor for Automotive Engineering at the Institute for Internal Combustion Engines and Automotive Engineering of the University of Stuttgart, has won the renowned Magnolia Silver Award of the City of Shanghai. He has been honored for his merits in contributing to the social und economic development of Shanghai.

 

Expressing his best wishes and his gratefulness for the extraordinary commitment Professor Dr. PEI Gang, President of the Tongji University, handed the silver medal over to Professor Dr. Jochen Wiedemann, in presence of Professor Dr. WU Zhihong, Vice-President of the Chinese-German University College (CHDK), Professor Dr. YU Zhuoping, Director of the College of Automotive Engineering of the Tongji University and Professor Dr. YANG Zhigang, Director of the Shanghai Automotive Wind Tunnel Center.

 

Professor Wiedemann, an acknowledged expert for aerodynamics and former director of the wind tunnel at Audi, received the award for his commitment as Chief Consultant of the Shanghai Automotive Wind Tunnel Center and as guest professor at the Tongji University at Shanghai. Since 2001 Professor Wiedemann has been committed to the Daimler Foundation Chair of  Driving Dynamics and Diagnosis and was nominated as professor of the CHDK in 2004.

 

This award is named after the official flower of  Shanghai, the magnolia, and is presented annually to expatriates for their outstanding contributions to the social and economic development of  the city.
