ECU Application
ECU Application
Parameterizing and adapting the functions of existing motor control equipment is the final and most comprehensive step in the series-production development of car engines today. Adapting and streamlining engine performance not only ensures that it complies with statutory regulations (such as pollution emissions, fuel consumption and noise). It also has a definitive impact on the overall impression the car makes which means that it is highly critical to customer identification.
This is why not only basic parameterization (i.e., using statistical methods to experimentally pinpoint the optimum sets of parameters on engine test stands) is of great significance. ECU application in the car (meaning optimization of drivability in all driving situations and under all possible climatic conditions) also has top priority.
Therefore, the FKFS supports the car manufacturer both in the basic application and when using spark ignition and diesel engines in cars. The challenges range from individual work packages (PWC/ZFC adaption, coordinating secondary exhaust gas treatment and cold-start applications, etc.) right down to comprehensive overall streamlining under transient conditions (EU6x - WLTP, RWDC, AREMIS; USA Bin5 – FTP75, SFTP).
Our resident engineers provide local application service support. The work they do ranges from planning and carrying out measurements through troubleshooting and fault correction in cars and on test stands right down to participating in test and quality assurance drives including maintaining and documenting data stocks.
