Automated Driving in Public Transport: Insights from a Real-World Project

Ulrike Weinrich, Project Lead at FKFS, will be a speaker at the upcoming online event “Autonomous Driving – Bridging Science, Industry and Collaboration between Kanagawa & Baden-Württemberg”. The event will take place online on 19 January 2026.

In her presentation, Ulrike Weinrich will share insights from one of Baden-Württemberg’s leading publicly funded flagship projects on automated public transport. She will reflect on key experiences from the project and highlight what it revealed about the transition from research environments to real-world deployment.

Her contribution will focus on:

  • practical insights gained from real-world testing of automated shuttles
  • lessons learned on the factors enabling, as well as those that still limit, the large-scale introduction of autonomous mobility

Participation is free of charge, and registration is currently open: https://bw-i.yve-tool.de/public_registration/26426?pw=Bc437323

Organizer is Baden-Württemberg International.
