Call for Papers for the conference 2025 Sustainable Energy & Powertrains starts today!

The path to CO2-neutral mobility is one of the most urgent challenges of our time. With over 1.5 billion vehicles on the world’s roads, the transition to sustainable energy carriers - powered by renewable electricity, hydrogen, and eFuels - such as renewable electricity, hydrogen, and eFuels - and the further development of next generation engines and powertrain systems including life-cycle evaluation is more critical than ever.

The conference 2025 Sustainable Energy & Powertrains (former Conference on Powertrains with Renewable Energy Carriers), taking place in Stuttgart on November 25 – 26, 2025 will bring together experts from industry, academia, and policy-making to explore innovative pathways toward CO2-neutral mobility.

This year’s topics are:

  • Energy infrastructure build-up, bottlenecks and challenges in renewable electricity, hydrogen, renewable fuels incl. life-cycle evaluation
  • Powertrain electrification, hybrids, fuel cells and battery technologies
  • High efficiency development in combustion processes and exhaust gas aftertreatment
  • Lower carbon intensity fuels (e.g. hydrogen, eFuels, bioFuels) and carbon neutrality in motorsports
  • Global market development and political framework for carbon neutrality

We invite you to share your expertise and submit an abstract for the 2025 Sustainable Energy & Powertrains.

You have two options:

  • Submit your paper through SAE for a peer review process and publication at SAE, and present it at the conference.
  • Alternatively, you can just give an oral presentation at the conference.

You can find all the relevant information regarding the Call for Papers along with the timeline on our FKFS event website

We look forward to receiving your submissions by April 16, 2025!
