Kamm-Jante Medal for outstanding scientific work awarded to Tobias Stoll

On January 9, 2025, Prof. Dr.-Ing. André Casal Kulzer has awarded the prestigious Kamm-Jante Medal for outstanding scientific work in the field of automotive and engine technology on behalf of the Wissenschaftliche Gesellschaft für Kraftfahrzeug- und Motorentechnik (WKM).

FKFS and the Chair of Automotive Powertrain Systems at the Institute of Automotive Engineering Stuttgart (IFS, University of Stuttgart) are particularly pleased that Dr.-Ing. Tobias Stoll's excellent dissertation was selected for this award. His doctoral thesis on “A Simulative Approach to Predict Energy Consumption of Future Powertrain Configurations for the Year 2040” was scientifically supervised by Prof. Dr.-Ing. Michael Bargende and co-assessed by Prof. Dipl.-Ing. Dr.techn. Helmut Eichlseder and Prof. Dr.-Ing. André Casal Kulzer. Tobias Stoll now continues his scientific work at FKFS.

“The defossilisation of the transport sector is one of the key challenges of the 21st century. It is a great honor and pleasure for me that my contribution to the analysis of future powertrain topologies based on renewable and circular solutions such as electrification, fuel cell systems and synthetic energy carriers has met with such a positive response from the scientific community. The promotion of climate-friendly technological diversity is essential in order to make the transformation process of the transport sector sustainable and efficient.”, he expressed.

Every two years, the WKM awards a science prize in the form of a medal, the Kamm-Jante Medal, for outstanding achievements by students, young scientists and engineers in the field of automotive and engine technology.
