Successful start to the Conference on Powertrains for Renewable Energy Carriers 2023

The Conference on Powertrains for Renewable Energy Carriers 2023 has got off to a successful start. This morning, Prof. Dr. André Casal Kulzer, Chairman of the FKFS, welcomed around 100 participants at the Haus der Wirtschaft in Stuttgart. Prof Casal Kulzer drew attention to the importance of diversity when it comes to renewable energy carriers, because without diversity there would be no future. The sessions then began with the first exciting technical presentations.

Arnd Franz from MAHLE GmbH opened the afternoon with his keynote speech "Efficiency in Motion - Competition of Technologies for Emission-free Mobility". Mr. Franz spoke about the constant growth in the global vehicle fleet and the simultaneous goal of reducing net emissions. To achieve this, defossilisation must be carried on quickly. Mahle's answer to this is electrification, renewable fuels and thermal management.

In the technical presentations of the individual sessions, the participants exchanged the latest research and findings on the challenges and solutions for CO2-neutral mobility using renewable fuels.

The first day of the conference will end with a networking evening at BIX Jazz Club, before the conference program continues tomorrow morning at 9:30.
