9th AutoTest started today

With over 110 participants, the 9th AutoTest Technical Conference - Testing Hardware and Software in Automotive Development - kicked off at the Haus der Wirtschaft in Stuttgart this morning.

Welcoming address by Prof. Hans-Christian Reuss, FKFS

Keynote by Dr. Peter Oel, Volkswagen AG and Dr. Rocco Deutschmann, neocx GmbH

Keynote by Prof. Dr.-Ing. Michael Weyrich, Institute for Industrial Automation and Software Engineering of Stuttgart University

The technical conference, with this year's main topic "Virtual Validation in Automotive Development", first began with a welcoming address by Prof. Hans-Christian Reuss, Member of the Board and Head of Automotive Mechatronics at FKFS. Two keynotes by representatives of science and industry kicked off the top-class conference program: In the first keynote, Prof. Dr.-Ing. Michael Weyrich of the Institute for Industrial Automation and Software Engineering of Stuttgart University spoke on the topic of "Hey K.I.T.T. - can I trust you?". Validation and Verification of Autonomous Systems". In the second keynote, Dr. Peter Oel of Volkswagen AG and Dr. Rocco Deutschmann of neocx GmbH highlighted in their presentation "On the way to the Automated Continuous Integration Factory at Volkswagen" the requirements that are placed on the development of software-defined-vehicles and how these are to be addressed in particular with the Continuous Integration Factory.

The great interest in the conference was already apparent in the run-up to the 9th AutoTest. The program committee had the difficult task of selecting 25 contributions for the conference program from over 40 very interesting and high-quality submissions. The accompanying trade exhibition rounds off the conference program. Automotive manufacturers, system suppliers, service providers and tool vendors use the conference as a platform to formulate requirements for testing automotive electronics and software and to discuss methods for optimizing test processes.

"We are very pleased that, after the 8th AutoTest in 2020 had to be cancelled due to Corona, the 9th AutoTest Technical Conference can take place this year and we are delighted that around 110 participants are with us at the Haus der Wirtschaft today. It is great to being able to talk to so many exciting personalities again. The high level of participation in our conference displays the great interest in the selected key topics shown by the automotive and supplier industry, tool manufacturers and research institutes," reports Prof. Hans-Christian Reuss.

While today's conference program will continue until 5:30 p.m., it continues tomorrow morning at 8:30 a.m.
