Robert Bosch GmbH truly impressed us with its presentation at the "Technology leaders of the automotive industry introduce themselves" on November 22, 2021.
As the old saying goes, "Many roads lead to Rome!" In the case of Dr. Thomas Irawan, it would read, "Many roads lead to Bosch!" From a doctorate in physics, to self-employment, then to top manager of the "Top 40 under 40", Dr. Thomas Irawan finally arrived at Robert Bosch GmbH and, after several stations, is now Head of Business Unit Cross-Domain Computing Solutions - Driver eXperience.
With his presentation "Drive & Park #LikeABosch - how to save lives, improve comfort and provide Driver eXperience" Dr. Irawan introduced the 130 participants to this important topic of the automotive industry. But how will driving and parking be made safer in the future with components developed by Robert Bosch GmbH?
Ultrasonic sensors, cameras and radars were Mr. Irawan's answer. Features that lead to 45% fewer accidents, through early detection of hazards by AI software and emergency braking assistants. With the help of the pilot partner Daimler, many innovations have also already rolled off the production line and enjoyed great success.
A future in which the car drives itself to its usual parking space over a distance of up to 400m - that is the goal that Dr. Irawan and his staff are pushing forward.
