Inaugural lecture of Prof. Dr.-Ing. André Casal Kulzer with great resonance

Prof. André Casal Kulzer & Prof. Oliver Riedel

On Tuesday, December 6, 2022, the inaugural lecture of Prof. Dr.-Ing. André Casal Kulzer took place on the premises of the University of Stuttgart.

Prof. Dr. Oliver Riedel, Vice Dean of Faculty 7: Design, Production and Automotive Engineering, University of Stuttgart, welcomed the approximately 170 guests and gave a summary of Prof. Casal Kulzer's career. After receiving his doctorate from the University of Stuttgart and holding various management positions at Robert Bosch GmbH and Porsche AG, Prof. Casal Kulzer has been a member of the Board of Directors at FKFS since January 2022 and has held the Chair of Automotive Powertrain Systems at IFS since October 2022. The University of Stuttgart is very pleased to have won Prof. Casal Kulzer.

Afterwards, Prof. Casal Kulzer started his lecture with the title "sustainable powertrain systems innovation", in which he talked about the effects of population growth, increasing CO2 emissions as well as mobility and named possible solutions. It became clear that electrification alone will not be enough to achieve the climate targets, and that research will also have to continue into alternatives such as hydrogen and synthetic fuels. Sustainable mobility requires holistic development and support as well as well-trained engineers and scientists.

We would like to thank Prof. Dr.-Ing. André Casal Kulzer for this vivid lecture and welcome him once again on behalf of FKFS!
