Valeo was part of the event series "Automotive Technology Leaders Present" for the first time yesterday evening. Joachim Mathes, CTO of Valeo BG Comfort and Driving Assistance Systems, spoke to 120 interested listeners in his presentation “Why a software defined vehicle isn‘t a smartphone on wheels”. He gave an overview of how electronics, software and connectivity affect the car of the future. The question of why the SDV is not a smartphone on wheels was also answered: Mr. Mathes sees the smartphone more as a lifestyle companion whereas vehicles are a long-term investment.
During the subsequent discussion, Mr. Mathes and his colleague Dr. Heinrich Gotzig, Expertise Director "Driving Assistance", were able to answer lots of questions from the Technology Leader's participants.
