Welcome by Prof. Casal Kulzer & Prof. Bargende

Keynote by Arne Philipp Siemens and Corentin Prié, AUDI AG

Keynote by Christian Küchen, en2x Wirtschaftsverband Fuels und Energie e. V.

The 1st Conference Powertrains for Renewable Fuels started this morning.

First, Prof. Dr.-Ing. Michael Bargende and Prof. Dr.-Ing. André Casal Kulzer, FKFS, welcomed the 100 participants at the Haus der Wirtschaft, Stuttgart.

Afterwards, Arne Philipp Siemens and Corentin Prié, both AUDI AG, kicked off the program of the exciting conference. With their keynote speech "Paris Climate Agreement: Signification for the Transformation Towards CO2-Neutral Mobility", they explained how important the decarbonization of the existing fleet is for achieving the climate targets of the Paris Agreement. In doing so, they said, it is essential to rely on several different solutions beyond electromobility.

The second keynote was given in the afternoon by Christian Küchen from en2x Wirtschaftsverband Fuels und Energie e. V. In his presentation, "Necessary Framework Conditions for the Ramp-Up of Sustainable Fuels," he highlighted the key role of synthetic energy sources in achieving climate neutrality and the framework conditions that politics should create to achieve this.

In the technical presentations of the individual sessions, participants are currently exchanging the latest research and findings on the challenges and solutions for CO2-neutral mobility using renewable fuels.

While the first day of the conference will end today with an evening event at BIX, the conference program will continue tomorrow morning at 8:30 am.
